About Us
The Director of the Braehead/Glasgow South centre is Ross Chalmers, an experienced and fully qualified teacher with a Masters of Education and several years experience of working with young people of both primary and secondary levels.
The centre is open three evenings during the week and all day Saturday. It is conveniently located at the Evans Business Centre in the Hillington Industrial Estate, a mere 5 minutes drive from Braehead Shopping Centre.
There is ample parking space at the centre to the rear of the Business Centre, making it a safe and convenient place for parents to 'drop off' their children.
What We Do
The Kip centre in Hillington provides after-school tuition in English and Maths for young people of all abilities at Primary and Secondary levels including those requiring help with Standard Grades/Intermediates 1 and 2 as well as those preparing for entrance exams to independent schools.
Inside the Centre
An initial FREE assessment is offered to the child, the results of which are discussed fully with the parents. Following this, an individual programme of work tailored to the child's needs is planned and a weekly session of 80 minutes tuition within a small group of no more than five children, is then arranged.
During the 80 minutes session, varied and rewarding activities alternate between computer programmes and written work. Young people benefit greatly from the programmes which are highly motivating. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere at the centre enables them to gain greater confidence in their own abilities to succeed in areas where they previously had low expectations and this in turn raises their self-esteem.
